Sendeducate offers expert SEND LAW advice, advocacy and bespoke alternative provision.

As parents of children and young people with SEND ourselves, we know first-hand how many challenges parents can face in getting suitable help and educational support for their children with additional needs. Navigating the special educational needs system can be complicated, exhausting and also isolating. Everything can seem like a battle in addition to the extra care and support children and young people with SEND require at home. When mainstream or special school placements don’t seem to work, options can seem very limited.

Sendeducate CIC was set up in 2023, to provide high-quality, bespoke, 1:1 alternative educational sessions/programmes for children and young people with SEND and to support families in navigating the SEND system. Through our network of experienced, creative industry professionals and equine experts, we currently provide learning opportunities in different subjects, including music production, DJing, singing/songwriting, pottery/ceramics, jewellery making, yoga/dance, as well as equine enrichment programmes. Our different sessions in the NORTH WEST are currently held in the following local authorities: Warrington, Cheshire East, Derbyshire and Manchester City.

We understand that many young people can feel uncertain about going somewhere new and trying unfamiliar activities. Especially when things haven’t been easy at school, it is understandable that they might be unsure about how trying out alternative educational sessions can help them to feel better about education and life.
Many of the young people who come along to the different sessions Sendeducate offers report that they enjoy their first session and are pleased that they came along!
Over the past two years, with support from the National Lottery Community Fund, SENDEDUCATE CIC has worked alongside neurodivergent children, young people and families navigating complex and often overwhelming systems.
Each story below represents an anonymised real case. Names and identifying details have been changed to protect privacy, but the circumstances and outcomes reflect genuine advocacy work delivered during the funded period.
Our role is not to replace statutory services, but to ensure that children, young people and adults receive the support they are legally entitled to — at the right time, in the right way.
We understand that children and young people with SEND can have a different educational experience to their peers, despite the SEND legal framework requiring an inclusive education. We provide SEND law advice, meetings & tribunal representation. Additionally we can advise and provide advocacy in welfare rights matters, including benefit appeals for children and adults. We offer 60 minute individual telephone/or online consultations, for educational matters or concerns when they arise. Our expert, legally-based advice is delivered by one of our qualified advisers. Please contact us for fees & availability.
The SEND system can be complex and confusing, especially when you are at the start of your child's educational journey or when SEND is suspected, but may not yet be confirmed. Our experts have written a collection of useful, up-to-date, affordable resources, incorporating the latest SEND research, empowering parents/carers, families and professionals to confidently advocate for children and young people with SEND.
